Composite Materials
Composite materials is material made from two or more constituent materials with significantly different physical or chemical properties that, when combined, produce a material with characteristics different from the individual components. Manufacturers of composite materials are accustomed to having their products evaluated on performance and pricing. Increasingly, the sustainability of the composite materials used is also assessed. Composites are engineered or naturally occurring materials made from two or more materials with significantly different physical or chemical properties. The components do not lose their individual identities when combined; instead their strongest traits are used to improve the final product.
