Climate Impact Research Analyst Internship (Fall 2024 - Spring 2025)
Boundless is looking for interns to support the research team by conducting in-depth research in support of climate impact assessments for emerging clean technologies and industries.
This is an opportunity to learn about our unique approach to climate impact analysis and gain exposure to some of the most exciting new technologies including, but not limited to Energy, Transportation, Food & Ag, New Materials, Waste to Value, and Water.
Research Interns can work flexibly between 10-20 hours per week remotely, receiving direction and guidance from a Senior Research Analyst. This is an unpaid internship, running from mid-November 2024 through May, 2025.

We achieve this through a science-based, data-driven approach, grounded in the proven methodology of Life Cycle Assessment. The scores and metrics derived are trustworthy and reliable because they are unbiased and validated by external industry and/or scientific experts. Boundless has the capabilities to perform rapid (and screening) LCA, LCA consistent with ISO 14040, and Scope 1,2,3 inventories.
Boundless has completed assessments of dozens of cleantech products and projects--alongside competing technologies-- ranging from renewable energy (geothermal, pv), circular economy (eg plastic recycling), HVAC and disinfection technologies, bioenergy and bioproducts, and innovative water and wastewater technologies. The resulting company reports frequently influenced investor decisions.
Responsibilities
Assist with researching, developing, and maintaining a repository of environmental and financial impact metrics.
Perform detailed literature research, using various information and data sources, to characterize the environmental impact of specific technology areas.
Support Boundless documentation through PowerPoint presentations and technical reports.
Development of climate impact scores for various industries.
Qualifications
Current undergraduate or graduate with a science or engineering background, and an interest in research, impact measurement and sustainability.
Strong quantitative and qualitative research skills.
Able to diligently review several types of data sources and select appropriate information from them.
Competence in modeling and analysis in Excel.
Attention to detail and transparency (e.g., documenting assumptions and references)
Strong intuition for the functional unit for various technology areas (e.g.,liters of potable water, lumens of light).
Ability to be an effective member of project teams.
Positive attitude, entrepreneurial spirit, proactivity, and strong attention to detail.
