Personalized Digital Health
The U.S. spends nearly 18% of its gross domestic product on healthcare. An estimated 25% of this expenditure is categorized as economic waste, including spending on unnecessary services, clinical inefficiencies and a fragmented care market. Three additional factors — the overuse of antibiotics, a tendency toward surgical interventions and intensive care — amount to between $76 and $101 billion annually in the U.S. Leveraging digital capabilities and advances in personalized medicine has the potential to reduce systemic inefficiencies, improve patient care and optimize numerous processes.
