Conflict Minerals: Can Due Diligence End Bloodshed?

Conflict minerals are natural resources extracted in conflict zones and used to perpetuate violent hostilities. They include coltan, cassiterite, columbite-tantalite, gold and wolframite, and are found in everything from electric cars and gaming systems to ammunition and amour-piercing rounds.

During this webinar, we explored the potential of sustainable supply chain compliance and investing to mitigate warfare and conflicts surrounding mineral extraction. We learned about mineral-sourcing frameworks, best sourcing practices, evaluating company efforts, and the adequacy of current investor due diligence. The webinar featured Chris Demers of Boundless, Lauren Compere of Boston Common Asset Management, and Raphaël Deberdt of Responsible Sourcing Network.
